About SUR
I’m Uschi Radics, founder and director of SUR. SUR is the result of my lifelong passion for language learning and education.
Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, I am a native Spanish speaker with more than 20 years of experience in education. Throughout my career, I have taught and led Spanish programs in independent schools across San Francisco and the Bay Area, as well as through my private practice, working with students of all ages, proficiency levels, and learning profiles. Prior to teaching, I held management and leadership positions in educational and nonprofit organizations in both Argentina and the United States.
Specialized in teaching Spanish as a second language, at the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that language is best learned through meaningful communication, curiosity, and connection. Every lesson is designed to create a supportive and engaging environment where students build confidence and develop real-world language skills.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy hiking, experimenting in the kitchen to perfect my sourdough bread and pizzas, or planning my family’s next travel adventure. I’m also passionate about raising my two teenage daughters to be proudly bilingual and bicultural.
